If you are local to central Illinois, this job requires you to work in the Peoria, IL office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with the option to work from home Monday and Friday.As Associate Director of Technology Management, my objective is:To bridge business needs and technology capabilities at Simantel. This role ensures our tools and systems empower both client work and agency operations — through requirement gathering, system optimization, platform evaluation, integration, and governance. The Associate Director of Technology Management connects strategy to execution by leading technology discovery, assessment, and enablement while balancing agency growth objectives and compliance. Outcomes I need to produce for clients: - Ensure technology used in client delivery — such as automation, analytics, and media platforms — is effective, compliant, and integrated within the broader tech stack.
- Lead technology discovery and solution design for complex client engagements, translating business objectives into scalable technical architectures.
- Identify opportunities to improve client work through automation, AI, and data integration between marketing systems.
- Partner with account and strategy teams to translate client needs into clear system requirements that drive better outcomes and reporting.
- Ensure that tools supporting client work are cost-effective, secure, and scalable to meet engagement needs.
Outcomes I need to produce for the Agency: - Manage client delivery technology needs across operations, creative, media, automation, and analytics.
- Maintain an up-to-date catalog of systems, users, contracts, and integrations, ensuring the agency is maximizing the value of paid tools.
- Audit existing systems to determine if they meet requirements before pursuing new purchases.
- Research and recommend new technology that complements Simantel’s operational tech stack, ensuring smooth integration and minimizing redundancy.
- Negotiate vendor pricing, lead security and risk assessments, and ensure compliance with privacy and data standards (e.g., SOC2, GDPR).
- Present clear recommendations to leadership (CTO, Technology Team, or Executive Team) backed by cost-benefit and risk analysis.
- Collaborate with IT to integrate new platforms and automate data flow across systems using APIs and AI tools.
- Identify, document, and prioritize integration opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
- Support governance by ensuring all technology is properly vetted, licensed, secured, and aligned with the overall technology roadmap.
- Stay ahead of emerging tools, AI trends, and integration strategies to keep Simantel’s technology ecosystem competitive and future ready.
To produce these outcomes, I need to:- Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to team members.
- Prioritize and oversee integration initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve data flow across systems.
- Partner closely with IT, Analytics, and Media teams to align execution with the broader technology roadmap.
- Ensure governance processes are followed for all technology adoption and usage.
- Build deep expertise in Simantel’s technology ecosystem and client delivery model.
- Demonstrate measurable impact through improved ROI on technology investments and reduced operational friction.
- Develop leadership capability through coaching, delegation, and strategic decision-making.
The skills and abilities I require are:- Strong understanding of marketing technology, CRM, analytics, and automation systems.
- Excellent documentation, system evaluation, and communication skills.
- Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and compliance evaluation.
- Familiarity with AI-driven automation tools and API-based integration platforms.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure technology solutions.
To produce these outcomes, I have decision-making authority over the following: - Recommendation and approval of marketing, analytics, automation, and integration tools used in client delivery (within budget and governance thresholds).
- Evaluation, renewal, consolidation, or retirement of existing technology platforms based on usage, value, and risk.
- Selection of vendors and platforms for pilot programs, proofs of concept, and controlled rollouts.
- Input into prioritization of technology and integration initiatives in partnership with IT, Analytics, Media, and Operations.
- Enforcement of governance standards related to security, privacy, licensing, and acceptable tool usage.
Leading indicators of my success are: - Reduced manual effort and workarounds in client delivery through documented integrations and automation.
- Clear, repeatable technology discovery and evaluation processes adopted across teams.
- Improved visibility into tool usage, costs, contracts, and system ownership.
